Blue Room

Limited edition five-track EP from the London-based quartet. Includes three exclusive tracks: 'Bigger Stronger', 'See You Soon' & 'Such a Rush'.
Customer Review: Regan was right! Just say no.
Stick with X&Y for your one-hit-wonders. This EP sucks. Maybe they just need to switch to Coplandia, as this effort is one bad trip. -Dr.Q
Customer Review: I'm so glad I bought this
This is a pretty rare EP that was released before their breakthrough album, Parachutes, came out. It is definitely worth your money. I found it in Tower Records Import/Singles section for 6 or 7 bucks after I had got A Rush of Blood to the Head. Well, this release is somewhat different from AROBTTH in that it is extremely mellow. While their latest album leans more to piano ballads and U2-ish pop songs, Blue Room EP's 5 tracks are very laid-back and beautiful. I wish they could have kept on making songs like "Bigger Stonger", the first track on the EP that stuns me every time. In short, this EP is pure magic.

Unlimited music downloads available on numerous websites today can make any music lover drool over. Dont lose your senses, though. The market of unlimited music downloads is huge and still expanding, so the question is not where to find these sites, but how to get the best deal and quality without posing your money, computer and yourself at risk.

Obviously, all the sites offering unlimited music downloads are not the same. While there are a few genuine ones, the sad and scary fact is most of those sites are fraud, using the offer of unlimited music downloads as a lure to get either money or sensitive data from you. And the peer-to-peer sites, giving away free unlimited music downloads, are notorious for malware and viruses of all sorts any downloaded file can lodge in your computer.

Take your time to search around and see what those incredible promises of unlimited music downloads are about. Read the sites terms and conditions. Is there a proof that the songs they supply are legal and copyright issue free? The last thing you want is to become a law offender.

There are too many websites giving away unlimited music downloads absolutely free of cost mostly illegally (though claiming the opposite), on the basis of sharing. Usually they are full of aggressive flashing ads and irritating pop-ups, making it difficult to navigate the site and find what you want. Also, some of them may try to trick you into paying for software you will need in order to manage your unlimited music downloads, while the software is available free of cost on other sites.

Check if you can browse the song library. If the site asks you to subscribe first, it is very likely a scam. Some legal and reputed websites may request you to download their software in order to see the selection of music downloads, but they will neither charge you, nor ask you to subscribe or register. Most genuine websites will also allow you to listen to sample tracks to make sure this is what you were looking for and to check the quality.

Compare pricing for membership or subscription, check if there are any extra charges, say, for burning a CD. Stay away from too unrealistic offers of unlimited music downloads. Such website can collect your money and instead of the promised lifetime membership just disappear overnight. Therefore, it also makes sense to check the sites reputation find out how long they have been in business, how many members they have, read reviews and clients feedback.

If you have no time to research, try a quick check for a possible scam: navigate your mouse over other major links on the site, e.g. Download Now or Music if you see the same URL that the homepage has, better search somewhere else.

The online industry of unlimited music downloads is exposed to various tricks and unethical practices, but it doesnt mean that you cant enjoy your favorite music. Unlimited music downloads can become a fantastic experience if you take simple steps to secure yourself and prevent scam attempts.

Why not pop over to my blog and check out some of the most popular and reliable download services?

Coldplay 8X10 Framed And Matted Color Photo

This is a beautifully framed and matted 8x10 glossy photograph. Total size is approximately 12x15 inches. This framed and matted photograph will look wonderful in any room of your house. Ready to hang right when you take it out of the box!

New parents are bombarded with information about raising children. What diapers to use, whether to breast feed, and how to make their babies smarter. Millions of dollars are spend every year on products designed to make their child smarter and more alert.

But nothing matches parental interaction for helping a child grow and learn. Talking, singing, and cuddling all play a vital role in your child's development. So does play time.

From the moment your child is born, they are curious about the world around them. Every experience is new, from the feel of their blanket to the sounds around them. And every new thing helps them make the connections that will help him grow and learn.

When my children were babies, they loved to play games and interact with me. Any game made them smile and laugh. They looked forward to play time with me. I did too.

Because newborns are still getting used to their environment, be sure to watch your child for signs of over stimulation. If you child begins to squirm or cries, change the activity to something more calm, like cuddling or rocking.

So, what kinds of games can you play with your newborn to help him make these connections? Be sure to choose activities that are age appropriate for your baby and it'll be as easy as 1, 2, 3.

Birth to 3 months old

At this age, most babies aren't mobile. They are totally dependant on you to take care of everything, from feeding to getting around. This is a great age to show your baby the world around them. Remember it might take your newborn a little while to respond to your games. It is normal and doesn't mean anything is wrong.

What is this?
Newborns are fascinated with touch. Soft, rough, furry, everything interests them. Now is the time to put that wardrobe you spent a lifetime accumulating to a wonderful new use. Find the items in your closet that have most diverse feels and colors. Silk, suede, velvet, fake furs and cashmere sweaters are excellent choices. Let baby experience each one as long as he wishes. While you are doing this, be sure to talk with you baby, tell him what he's feeling and seeing.

Dancing Baby
Music has charms to sooth the cranky baby. While not every baby loves music, the majority are calmed by it. So why not take advantage of that and try dancing with your baby. Find a music your baby likes, one that doesn't put him to sleep. Turn it on low and hold your baby, making sure you give his neck the support it needs. Then sway, move around, do dips, and just dance. It doesn't have to be perfect, as long as you hold your baby and interact with him. If your baby doesn't like dancing, maybe he'll like watching you dance. Exaggerated movements can hold your child's attention and entertain them for as long as you can dance.

Wow, look at that!
Babies love to feel new things. Their eyesight isn't perfect right now, so they need to see things up close and personal. They find things we take for granted interesting. You can use this interest to introduce your baby to the world around him. The kitchen is a wonderful place to find a diverse group of things your baby can look at and touch. Spoons, whisks, spatulas, fruits and vegetables are different kinds of things you can let your baby look at and touch to learn about his home.

4 to 6 months old

At this age, babies are more active. They are learning to roll over and to hold their head up. Near the sixth month, most babies are learning to sit up as well. Here are some games for their age group, in addition to the previous ones.

Bubble Blast
Now that your baby's eyesight is improving, it's time to take advantage of most children's love of bubbles. A great game to play when you are outside is bubble blast. A small bottle of bubbles and a wand are all you need to provide entertainment for your older baby. There are even little bottles of bubbles, complete with a wand, you can even keep in your diaper bag for those times you are outside for long periods of time and baby is cranky.

Rocket Baby
Both of my son's loved to fly. Zooming around the house, with me supplying the power, brought loud giggles from them. Playing rocket baby is simple; you only need to decide what kind of flying machine they'll be. Airplanes zoom around, dipping up and down, and circling the room. Rockets start off low and rumble up toward the ceiling. Take your queue from your child and you can't go wrong.

Belly Furps
Babies love to be touched and tickled. A fun thing you can do with your child is the belly furp. The way you give one is take a breath, place your lips against your child's bare belly and blow gently. You'll make a very funny noise as well as tickle you child. My boys still think this is funny. Again, be sure to pay attention to your child while playing. Stop if your child seems upset by this action.

Creative play is a wonderful way to bond with your newborn and older baby. And help him develop his social, emotional, physical, and cognitive skills.

Customer Review: Rosetta Stone V3-Spanish (Latin America) Level 1,2,3
I purchased this for my college-aged daughter so that she could become proficient in Spanish. This has given her the practice she needs that the classroom (high school) did not.
Customer Review: Great Addition to School Learned Spanish
I took 17 hours of Spanish during my undergraduate degree, but could not speak Spanish. I could read Spanish, but I could not understand it when spoken. Rosetta Stone takes a different approach to teaching Spanish than my university. It has made understanding and speaking Spanish within my reach. I had a strong vocabulary base, but Rosetta Stone has helped me to be able to speak and use this vocabulary in everyday conversation. This is a great complement to any Spanish curriculum. It is a wonderful option for those who couldn't learn Spanish "the old fashion way."

Verdi - La Traviata

Opera superstars Renée Fleming and Rolando Villazón star in the sumptuous 2006 Los Angeles production of Verdi's tragic masterpiece, La Traviata. This performance was the highlight of James Conlon's much-anticipated inaugural season as the music director of Los Angeles Opera, a post that followed his impressive tenure at the Paris National Opera. The lavish production was filmed in Hi-Definition Widescreen to capture all of the excitement and drama on stage. Veteran Verdi baritone Renato Bruson rounds out this dynamic ensemble. Renée Fleming's heart-breaking portrayal of Violetta, as captured on this extraordinary DVD, has earned her rave reviews from press and Rolando Villazón returns to the role that made him an international powerhouse after his critically-acclaimed, soldout performances at the 2005 Salzburg Festival.
Customer Review: Old style opera! In the bad sense.
Well, this is a good oportunity to watch and listen Fleming, Villazón, Bruson and Conlon together. But the mise en scene by Mrs. Placido Domingo is so bad. Looks like a poor old style in a little town! And Fleming, one of my favorites sopranos, is not Violetta.
Customer Review: I saw this live
and it was not remotely close to being a great Traviata. Fleming did not project well; Villazon seemed stiff and nervous; Conlon is clearly not an accomplished Verdian conductor; the sets were average at best. Too many USA people just give any Fleming performance an inflated rating because she is attractive and is from the USA.

Silver or Gold

10 Songs: 1. Better on Paper 2. Silver or Gold 3. To Be Cool 4. Are You Serious? 5. Faces 6. Cold Summer Rain 7. Don't Ask Why 8. Married Man 9. Mother Me 10 Where I Want to Be

A wedding reception is a great time to let loose after the more solemn ceremony. The pressure of getting your vows right is over, you are officially married, and now it is time to party! Many couples feel that the wedding reception should reflect the way that they live, and not be stuffy or sedate. The idea is to have a great bash, and dance the night away with friends.

Setting aside a section of the reception venue to be a cool disco lounge is a huge trend. Couples often like to have a traditional band for their first dance and the early part of the reception. Then, as the night goes on, the young people migrate to the "lounge" area, complete with a d.j. and mirrored balls on the ceiling.

The lounge area should have a flavor that is distinct from the more formal reception area. Comfy chairs and sofas are a must, and look great in bold colors. Lighting should be dim, like you would find in a dance club. Of course, the bride will want to use some of the same personalized touches as she did in the rest of the venue to tie her theme together. And don't forget the monogrammed cocktail napkins!

The traditional gown that the bride wore at the church just won't do for dancing 'til dawn in her own personal disco lounge. That is why many brides choose a second dress that is a little sexier and a lot easier to move in. You will also want custom bridal jewelry to complete the transformation from demure bride to fab party girl. A really great idea would be to have a suite of custom bridal jewelry made with pieces that you can mix and match. For instance, the bride might wear pearls with a few Swarovski crystal accents for her ceremony. Then when she changes into her second gown, she can change out the earrings for handmade long crystal drops, and layer on a few more bracelets for a fun and sparkly look.

The finishing touch to a late night of dancing is to bring out a second round of desserts. Serve the wedding cake in the usual way at the reception, then have passed trays of desserts brought around in the wee hours of the morning. Your friends who have stayed at the party all night will love it, and it is the perfect ending to an incredible wedding reception.

Karaoke MTV Latin Pop Music CD+G 2-Pack CD Volume 1 & 2

Remakes of some of the most popular Latin Pop hits have been compiled on an energetic two CD+Graphics set for karaoke fans to enjoy. Though it's geared for the teen set, grownups will undoubtedly join in when they hear these tunes and see accompanying lyrics for each track on their TV screens. It's easy, instant fun for future American idols of any age. There are two versions of each song: with and without vocals. All songs are professional re-creations and not sung by the original artists.
Customer Review: parental advisory
I bought this for my 8 year old daughter, assuming that because it was geared towards kids, it would be appropriate. I was disappointed to see that these cds had a parental advisory: "Explicit lyrics" sticker on them. It did not say this in the product description. I will be returning this item.
Customer Review: Karaoke CD review
I like this, because i love to sing. It educates you in music and is a lot of fun to do with your friends. Its not very durable though, but how many CDs are???

I have a friend who always says that she wishes we would just bust out in random song and dance throughout the day. She believes that there would be less war, and definitely more entertainment in our everyday lives. I have to admit, I think I agree with her. Even though real life isn't all song and dance, we can pretend for limited amounts of time that it is reality. We can do this by watching musicals and Broadway shows. These offer great escapes from the sometimes dull path that we call life. But with so many of these to choose from, it may be hard to find the right one for your current mood. Here are just a few choices that you have, in detail.

Cats: This is one of the most famous Broadway productions. Even more famous then the name "Cats" is the producer, Andrew Lloyd Weber, who has produced many successful pieces. It is actually based off of T.S. Eliot's poems; you guessed it, involving cats. If you are a feline-lover, this is the perfect show for you. Just think; nothing but cats!

Wicked: I've heard lots of great things about this production. It is based off the book by Gregory Maguire called, "Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West". This is a story from the perspectives of the witches of the Land of Oz. As a viewer, you will get to see a friendship, rivalry, jealousy, and opposing viewpoints and beliefs-all with great music.

Hairspray: This is one of my personal favorites. This is set in the 1960s and is full of racial tension. This has a great message and is very entertaining. Also, the main character is not the typical "popular" girl. She becomes popular because of her personality, rather than her looks. The characters learn that the personality is more important than what is on the outside.

Phantom of the Opera: Again, another of my all-time favorites. This production is based off of Gaston Leroux's novel with the same title. This musical offers everything from love, adventure, suspense, friendship, danger, and entertainment-with, of course, the most fabulous costumes and makeup.

Rent: This is considered a rock musical. It is brazen and a little in your face-- but in a good way. This musical follows a group of young artists and musicians living in New York. Their everyday life is a struggle for survival. The many things they deal with are AIDS, poverty, love, friendship, betrayal, and sacrifice. This is definitely a heart-wrenching production-but beautifully created and presented.

These are just a few; there are so many more available to experience. The variety of shows offers something for everyone. Also, for family outings there are a few Disney productions that are great for every age group. Before you purchase your Broadway tickets, make sure that you find the right one for you and others in your group-you wouldn't want to see something inappropriate for children. This way, the Broadway musical experience can be a remarkable memory that the whole family can remember with smiles.

Antonio Carlos Jobim: An All Star Tribute

WINNER OF...
1995 JazzTimes Reader Poll- Best Video- First Runner Up

Direct from Brazil in his last recorded performance, Antoine Carlos Jobim (1927-1994) is joined by an international delegation of jazz giants to recreate his classic melodies in a beautiful, concert-length “Thank You.” With over four hundred songs to his credit including the unforgettable Girl From Ipanema, Jobim virtually single handedly brought the world Bossa Nova by adapting the percussive excitement of the samba to the intimacy of the guitar while echoing the melodies and harmonies of Cool Jazz. This classic, concert-length "Thank You" includes: Girl From Ipanema, Once I Loved, O Grande Amor, No More Blues, Wave and more
Customer Review: Farewell To A Legend
"Tom" Jobim died only a few months after this concert, so it was one of his last performances. He was truly a legend and if you love music you really need to acquaint yourself with his. Beautifully complex rhythms and harmonies that do not wear thin with repeated listening--the hallmark of great music. Even without understanding the lyrics his music evokes combinations of deep emotions, including a sad/sweet longing that has no English translation from the Portuguese. I'll not mention all of the artists that appear in this concert, but only draw your attention to Gal Costa, who has become one of my favorite Brazilian singers. Check out her earlier CDs. You will not be disappointed!
Customer Review: Impressive
Before watching this DVD I had never heard of Gal Costa. What a pleasant surprise to see her perform. Antonio himself appears in this one for Luiza and Wave: very nice. I couldn't appreciate John Henricks performance, too much scatting and not very good. That's just my opinion. Gonzalo Rubalcaba didn't impress me either. For me, the real standout performance was by Gal Costa. She does very cool A Felicidade with Herbie; and then an amazing So Todos Fossem Iguais a Voce. Also, Herbie is an amazing keyboard player. It is as though the instrument is part of him. Buy it!

According to the normal public as well as those who are financially sound, the definition of rap instrumental is something that dwells unconsciously in everybody's mind and has a somewhat literary effect though doubting on its originality. As an accepted fact, though it is one of the fastest spreading music's in today's world, doubt still reigns on its artistic effect.

This sort of music can be produced with or without a beat in any rhythm, provided it produces acceptable results. It's a fashionable or stylish music, so as to say, and its field is doubtfully divided among lyrics, song, prose and poetry. Rap instrumental music is said to have originated from West Africa and Jamaica and its is also known to be the originator of Celtic music.

Traditionally, there used to be rap battles, where Gaelic people got drunk and started to compete for the most insulting, humorous five-line poems having rhyme schemes, otherwise knowns as limericks, and the one who loses would have to buy the next round of drinks. A Scottish form of rap instrumental, "puirt a beul", was the predecessor of mouth organs. Rap instrumental was not influenced directly by the Scottish and the Irish because all its originators were African American.

And its believed that, in true form, rap instrumental has originated from America. A number of American instrumentals like jazz, rock, funk, etc were said to have originated from a mixture of the Celtic and African music, with a touch of Gaelic melodies. Rap instrumental come under the same category, so as to say. It gives stress on mouth music, vocal improvement and rhythm.

Rap instrumental had a great hand in the improvisation of the hip-hop culture. Initially, it began to be played in the street parties thrown in some particular area in New York in the 1970s by the Jamaicans and the sorts. These sort of parties laid the stepping stones for variety and paved way for authentic enjoyment. These parties organized a "dance hall", something sort of a disco and had a "Master of Ceremonies" who would go up on stage and hail encouragements in beat with the DJ to redeem and excite the excite the crowd for more fanfare and enjoyment. With the passage of time, these kind of encouragements started lengthening and became more and more complicated in the form of poetry formed vocally and finally this type of music came to be known as rap instrumental.

Right from day one, rap instrumental is known to be accepting music from different states and religions without bar.

One thing that is very different about rap instrumental is that, its never sung, its always chanted or spoken with rhythm and music, making it seem like a song. No original music, no musicians, no instruments are required to create music for rap. All it needs is bits and pieces of already existing music and sounds here and there joined together to create a melody. The lyrics in rap is always simple to understand, energetic, repetitive and usually apt in making loud and harsh noise. And these lyrics praise the existence and art of rap instrumental.

James Paul McCartney was born on June 18, 1942 in Liverpool. He was the first son of Mary and James McCartney. His brother, Peter Michael McCartney, was born eighteen months later. Paul's mother was a midwife, who died from breast cancer in 1955 when Paul was just 14, this troubled Paul deeply. Paul's father was a cotton salesman during the day for A. Hannay Co., and a jazz musician with Jim Mac's Jazz Band at night. Paul did very well in school. He passed his 11-Plus examination in 1957 and entered the Liverpool Institute, a very popular high school. There, he met a younger student by the name of George Harrison whom Paul later brought with him into John's group, The Quarrymen. As a child, Paul showed no particular interest in music. Both he and his brother were sent to piano lessons, but these didn't last long. Then he was given a trumpet by an uncle, and he began to teach himself. His musical talent probably came from his father. Of all The Beatles, Paul's family was the only one with any musical background or interest. At the Liverpool Institute, Paul became popular. His dealings with young girls, however, had little effect on his grades. He was a top student, but he soon found that school was interfering with his social life. Like John and the others, Paul was influenced by early rock songs. Still, it was Elvis that formed the greatest impression on him. Paul first met John through a mutual friend, Ivan Vaughan. Vaughan invited Paul to see The Quarrymen play at the Wooton Parish. c The Quarrymen, and Paul accepted. Paul's first public performance with The Quarrymen was at a dance at the Conservative Club in Broadway. Paul was supposed to play a solo that night, but for some reason, he never did. What he did do after the dance was play John some songs that he had written himself. John was impressed and later tried to write songs of his own. Neither wrote anything of much value, but the two began collaborating, each egging the other on to better works. From that day until the end of The Beatles, they never stopped, and together they became "Lennon & McCartney," one of the most renowned song writing duos of the twentieth century. Once they had become established songwriters, Paul and John would often write independently of one another. John's songs were more raw rock 'n' roll, while Paul's tended to be more romantic. Songs like "Yesterday," "Michelle," and "Lovely Rita" are typical McCartney songs. An early agreement between Paul and John assured that all Beatle songs that either wrote would bear the trademark of "Lennon & McCartney." Paul met Jane Asher at a pop concert at Albert Hall. She was then seventeen. The Radio Times asked her to go along to the concert to give her impressions of The Beatles. After the concert, she was invited back to their hotel for a drink. That night Paul and Jane spent the evening together. "I realized she was the girl for me," Paul once said. Jane, however, summed up her impression of the boys by exclaiming, "They couldn't believe I was a virgin. " Paul wanted Jane to give up acting to be with him constantly. She refused. This led to a number of arguments, but Paul was still attracted to her. It was for Jane Asher that he wrote "I'm Looking Through You" and "And I Love Her." Marriage seemed inevitable, and on Christmas Day, 1967, Paul asked Jane to be his wife. She accepted (Bio..)(Paul Mc)

In 1969 rumors started to spread that Paul was dead. Rumors of the death were exaggerated. No one knows for sure where the "Paul is Dead" rumor began. Some rumors were spread that Paul had been dead for three years and that he had been replaced by a look a like. Beatles fans everywhere looked for clues that were left intentionally in lyrics, record covers and pictures that would reveal the truth about the hoax.

The idea that Paul McCartney was dead for three years surfaced during the release of Abbey Road in September of 1969. The first indications of the hoax were printed in two Midwestern College newspapers (Iowas Drake University Times-Delphic and Northern Illinois Universitys Northern Star). Russel Gibb, a Detroit radio jock for WKNR FM read about the story in the college newspaper articles and invented new "clues" for listeners. Listeners called the radio station and claimed to be able to hear secret messages by playing Revolution #9 and other songs backwards. A walrus is a Greek symbol for death. In the song Glass Onion, John Lennon sings, "well heres another clues for you all, the walrus is Paul," which connected Paul to his "death".

According to one myth. Paul left the recording studio in anger, following a fight with the rest of the group. Paul stormed out of the studio, jumped into his car and sped off (I Buried P). All of the clues point to a car accident that reportedly happened prior to Paul leaving the studio in anger. On November 10, 1966 a British newspaper reported that on Wednesday morning at five oclock someone was involved in a car accident, according to the newspaper the accident was so bad that the body could not be identified in any way. In A Day In The Life, John Lennon sings, "he blew his mind out in a car, he didnt notice that the light had changed, a crowd of people stood and stared, theyd seen his face before, nobody was really sure if he was from the house of god (in the song god sounds like Paul)(I Buried P)

Many visual clues were on the Abbey Road LP. The media began reporting the joke as a fact as soon as it was released. The rumors began to grow larger. In October of 1969 McCartney himself made a public appearance in which he stated the breaking up of The Beatles. In a 1970 Rolling Stone interview with John Lennon, Lennon was asked if any of the hidden clues were supposed to have any meaning. Lennon replied, "No. That was bull. The whole thing was made up."

The Beatles enjoyed attention. They were jokers; maybe they were just having a little fun with their fans. Some people today still believe that Paul is dead because of the many convincing clues. No evidence shows that any of the members were behind the hoax. No one can prove that it did or didnt happen. The fact of the matter is that Paul is alive today. He is currently married to an ex-model. He is touring the concert world. And he is still a Living legend.

Theres no doubt that tech is projected to be big for the 2007 Christmas gift season. Anything that can be plugged in or turned on is cool in the eyes of children. And children are becoming tech-savy at a much younger age. If you haven't taken a look at kids' toys lately, you may well be suprised. Even baby toys mimic adult technology. Toddler toy laptops, cell phones and digital cameras all popular toys today.

But not all parents embrace that trend, thinking that expensive technical toys for small children encourages computer-addicted couch potatoes. Many parents long for the classic toys of their own youth - the simple bicycle, Mr. Potato Head, or a simple wooden train. The problem is, most kids are exposed to the high tech toys somewhere - in school, visiting the homes of others, or in the media - so the old stand-bys don't seem as exciting today, and in the eyes of our children, are quite dated.

And, with childhood obesity on the rise, parents have a hard time embracing toys that encourage children to veg in the front of a computer or TV screen. We welcome inexpensive toys that combine technology (because it's not going away) with classic learning and exercise. Some toymakers have answered our call. Here are five inexpensive, fun and popular toys that combine tech with exercise and learning.

1. Fisher-Price Smart Cycle: The Fisher-Price Smart Cycle combines exercise, education, and video game-type fun all into one toy. This toy is a bike that attaches to your TV. Your child has to petal the bike in order to play the game and steers handlebars that actually move. In essence, children are getting exercise and learning coordination while in video game nirvana. The games included are educational and allow your child to pursue alphabet letters, take a trip to math mountain, and explore shape lake. Fischer Price also offers software with favorite TV characters (like Sponge Bob, Barbie and Dora) so your child doesnt get bored. Priced at about $90, its the most expensive toy on this list, but still pretty cheap by tech standards.

2. LeapFrog 100 Hoops Basketball Counting Game: This is the only childs basketball game that teaches number recognition and counting (all the way to 100 in both English and Spanish). It features built-in rally and cheering sounds to encourage your child to exercise while he learns regular and skip counting (by 5s and 10s) to 100. The game is completely portable and can he attached to a chair, wall, or door knob or can be taken outside and hung on a tree. Priced under $25.

3. Leap Frog Leap Learn & Groove Alphabet Drum: Its no wonder this toy was winner of the 2006 iParenting Media Greatest Products Award. Priced at under $15, this toy not only encourages physical activity, rhythm and fine motor development, it also teaches language and music. It has two programs. Children can either simply make music with it, or it can be programmed to display or speak letters of the alphabet to encourage early letter recognition.

4. Discovery Exclusive Ready Set Learn! Jump & Dance Music Mat: This item is among the Discovery Stores best sellers. This toy allows your child to exercise by dancing and hoping, while it also encourages problem solving, creative play skills, and fine motor skills. Kids can chose to either dance to their own routines while the music follows their moves or they can repeat pre-programmed routines which light up with every move. This item is under $30.

5. Leap Frog Learn & Groove Counting Maracas: Similar to the above mentioned Alphabet Drum, the counting maracas operate on the same principal of children making music and exercising while learning. The maracas teach counting from 1-10 in English and Spanish and introduce colors as well. This gem of a toy is under $15.
