A few companies are combining the new balance detection of the Wii Fit Balance Board and motion detection of the Wii remotes to create the first Cheerleading games for the Wii.

Below are two of the first Cheerleading games ever created on the Wii, We Cheer and All Star Cheer Squad. These two games are primarily targeted at younger girls which isn't that common in the video game world. The new cheer leading games will also make extensive use of the Wii Fit Balance Board to detect steps and moves and also heavily rely on the motion detection controls of the Wii Remotes to detect hand movements, spins, kicks and poses.

We Cheer
One of the first cheerleading games coming out will be Wii Cheer release date unknown right now, created by Namco. We Cheer takes a fun customizable approach to this new genre, the game looks like it will offer a lot of different options so each person playing can have a unique experience.

The game uses real songs from some of the hottest music stars from teen sensations like Hilary Duff and Aly and AJ to the 70s disco bands. We Cheer also allows you to customize your cheerleaders outfit which some people can spend hours doing. The game contains multiple modes depending on how you're feeling. You can chose to burn calories in Exercise Mode or compete for the Captian position with a friend in 2 player Campaign Mode. You can even battle it out with up to 4 players in Party Mode to find out who is the best cheerleader.

We Cheer Features:

* Hit Songs - Dance and cheer to the hottest music from artists of the past, present and future.

* Endless Character Customization - Create the perfect competition outfit.

* Engaging Modes - Exercise Mode, Campaign Mode, Party Mode.

* Really Addictive Gameplay - Spin, kick, jump and dance to various choreographed routines.

All Star Cheer Squad
Another Cheerleading game coming out is All Star Cheer Squad release date October 20, 2008, created by THQ. All Star Cheer Squad pulls out all the stops and takes more of a "cheerleading experience" simulation approach. In this game you actually follow a year in the life of a cheerleader. You'll learn new cheers, participate in the practices and even create your own routines to make the squad and eventually become captain.

This game also seems to take a serious direction with the dancing, the choreography is done by Tony G. who also choreographed the movie Bring It On! So you can definitely expect your child to get a workout.

All Star Cheer Squad Features:

* Use the Wii Fit Board to balance and perform stunts

* Use the Wii remote and nunchuck to perform dozens of real-world cheer/dance moves

* Compete in squad and one-on-one cheer-offs

* Customize the look of your team including body, facial features, hair and outfits

* Learn new moves and choreograph your own cheer routines to music

This adds to a new wave of exercise games for the Wii Fit. While these games are not completely targeted towards exercise, you can see how they would give you a good workout.

There also aren't that many "girl games" on the market but with these two Cheerleading games coming out expect people to really start to take a look into the genre, especially if these cheerleading games do well which I think they will.

Customer Review: My boys love this book.
This is a wonderful book of popular songs in Spanish, which my triplet boys latched onto immediately. The songs are very engaging, and each page has lovely artwork. I speak Spanish, and my boys were born in Spain. I have been trying very hard to help them maintain a little Spanish, and this book has been very helpful. It doesn't come with a CD, but you can easily learn the tunes of the songs if you know how to read music. And even if you only speak rudimentary Spanish, I think it's possible to learn the songs and enjoy them. This book quickly became the boys' favorite bedtime routine. I hear them singing the songs during the day as well. I highly recommend it.
Customer Review: Great book
I love the colorful pictures in this book and that it has music to all of the songs. It is a wonderful book and my baby loves when I sing to him!

Nang Talung is the indigenous performing art in the south of Thailand. It is a kind of the Thai Shadow puppet theater that formerly spread from southern Thailand to other regions. It has much influence on the lives of the rustic people of Thailand.

As in the past there were no movies, one of the most popular entertainments always enjoyed by a multitude of Thai people was "Nang" or share puppet play. This was subsequently called "Nang Yai" (literally meaning "grand puppet") and "Nang Lek" (literally meaning "small puppet") which was later called "Nang Talung." These two genres of traditional performances can still be evident up to the present days in some precincts of Thailand. But it is not clear whether Nang Yai or Nang Talung arose first.

Nang Talung is the indigenous performing art in the south of Thailand. It is a kind of the Thai shadow puppet theater that formerly spread from southern Thailand to other regions. It has much influence on the lives of the rustic people of Thailand. Nang Talung uses the shadow of puppets in operating. Since antiquity this type of play has ever been held in many civilized countries such as Egypt, Greek, Turkey, India, Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand especially in every part of the nation. When the time went by, it is found only in southern Thailand. The provinces of Pattalung and Nakhon Sri Thammarat are the perfect places to see Nang Talung.

It is believed that Nang Talung originated in the reign of King Rama V and appeared in the village of Baan Don Maprao in Pattalung. So the southerners called it "Nang Don" after the district in which it initiated. It is assumed that it is now called "Nang Talung" becaused when it was performed in Bangkok, the people of Bangkok realized that it was from Pattalung and continued to call it "Nang Pattalung", Afterwards, the name was abbreviated to "Nang Thalung" and finally it was abbreviated again to "Nang Talung". Even today, the people of Bangkok still call it this, but the southerners abbreviate it as "Nang Lung" or simply "Nang".

This regional performance of southern Thailand was previously depicted from the episode of the Ramayana epic in India. It was gradually modified to suit the time and preference of the spectators such as its content, hero, heroine and musical instrument while the joker becomes a favorite performer amongst the spectators. The chief of Nang Talung will sit behind a brilliantly back lit white screen made of cloth. His duty is to provide dialogs for every puppet and also narrate the story while the play is proceeding. Nang Talung is nowadays very famous at village festivals, temple fairs and celebrations like marriages and ordination ceremonies.

Each shadow play figure is made of good quality cowhide which has been dried and perforated into different shapes. The figures are elaborately painted with natural and water-resistant colorings. They are held up by bamboo sticks with the mouth and hands movable in tune with the narration. The Nang Talung hall has a thatched roof and three walls. Every piece of Nang Talung is manipulated with rods in order to control their movements and given life by the chief. He will express his feelings on the puppets by the prose or verse during the play. The puppets emerge only in shadow against a white screen with the light shining through from behind.

A Nan Talung troop is composed of two main parts. One is "Nai Nang", the group leader who pilots the performance with simultaneous singing an story telling. Another is the musicians who accompany the leader's action. Performances may be a religious theme or the story from the Ramayana. They may also be particularly composed to include trendy reflections, songs and poems about local events and matters of current interest in the country. Presently, the Nang Talung troop comprises many members and more music than in the past as each troop is trying to modernize Nang Talung and make their group so unique amongst other troops.

Quite similar to Nang Talung is Nang Yai or the grand Shadow puppet play. Nang Yai is conceived as one of Thailand's traditional dramatic art forms that mingles various artistic creations into astounding one. In terms of visual arts, the detailed and elaborate traditional design of the puppets is first drawn by a master artist. Then the design is applied onto a piece of leather and scrupulously etched into almost lace-like proportion. The pieces are mounted onto sticks and they are given life by the master puppeteer in a classical drama performance complete with a live Thai musical ensemble and a singer to provide the narration.

You can learn a lot about email marketing from Latin dancing. In fact you can learn the biggest secret to exploding your profits in nearly any market.

I do a little Latin dancing. That's how I met my beautiful fiancee Pamela - a real live rocket scientist.

She must be the most stunning rocket scientist in history. No wonder Columbia crashed.

Just kidding - she had nothing to do with that particular space shuttle. The space shuttle she worked with came home just fine.

Why do I say Latin dancing can explode your marketing profits...?

In salsa dancing there are 6 steps in the basic movement (3 forward, 3 back). In cha cha there are 10.

When you learn to dance you quickly learn that there are a series of steps required to do a movement properly. It's the same with email marketing.

People go through a process before they buy and generally speaking the process is longer the higher the price of the product or service. Most people will take a lot longer to buy a house than a bag of apples for example.

One study showed that most people buy AFTER the sixth contact from a sales person.

Understanding this will help you create the multiple steps you need in your marketing to take your prospects from A-Z step by step.

Also in dancing your moves are fluid - they flow with the music and your partner.

And that's how your marketing should be - each step should flow with your prospect, where they're at and their needs and desires.

So look at what key information your prospect needs to make a buying decision and then use your email autoresponder series to get that information to them at key times.

Emails leading to short reports, audio and video are very powerful.

Most important is to constantly analyze and improve on the way you help your prospects step by step to understand exactly how and why it will benefit them to do business with you.

I've set up email lists where over 60% of the subscribers click through to the site from an email.

Most email marketers are lucky to get a 5% click through rate.

The secret to creating a powerful email list is to really think through how you can give outstanding value to your list FIRST.

Then think about creating a sequence of emails where you might send out links to quality content in 2 emails then a link to a product offer then 2 more links to quality content and so on.

Customer Review: A good album with excellent bonuses
At this price you have to really like Coldplay. This is not their best album but great nonetheless. I will always enjoy Parachutes the most. This edition of X&Y includes the videos for "Fix You," "Speed of Sound," "The Hardest Part," and "Talk". It also includes two exclusive B-sides: "Setting Sun" and "Gravity". "Setting Sun" is actually a very good song. It's a shame it doesn't get more recognition. Did I mention the songs come in DVD-audio? Overall, this is a must-have for any hardcore Coldplay fan. All others can pass.
Customer Review: Best ever

Guitars are music instruments that are very versatile; most musicians around the entire world use them because they find a guitar to be very easy to play.

They are also the most commonly chosen instrument for a student to start playing their way into music, mostly because it takes very little time to learn how to play it, and of course because it is not rare to be able to find a decent guitar for a very convenient price (unlike other instruments as pianos, for instance).

Today, all music shops offer a very wide variety of guitars, suitable for almost any musician, from beginners to masters. The most popular, however, are these two kinds of guitars: Acoustic guitars and electric 6-strings guitars.

Some very specialized vendors have started selling other classes of guitars; usually adaptations of the classical guitar made by different cultures all around the world. In these vendors shops, regular customers (mostly collectors) are able to buy guitars such as the Mexican guitarron, a huge guitar used by Mariachis, or as the guitarra criolla, an Argentinean adaptation of the 6-strigs classical guitar, used by Tango orchestras and also by the famous gauchos (the south-american version of cowboys).

Another advantage of guitars is that, once you learned the basics of music composition, you will find it easer to move into more complex instruments, such as violins, and keyboard instruments; which are more difficult to use as the first contact with music practicing.

Beyond all that, the key to guitars success (they are the most used musical instrument worldwide, and has been for a very long time) is what matters the most: its sound. The beautiful sound a guitar produces can be compared to the sound produced by instruments that are much more expensive, rare and hard to learn. That is what keeps a good guitar above the rest.

Tamara Williams is a successful author and contributor to Guitars which is dedicated to providing useful guitar help, tips, information on products and services for guitar players.

If you are a TV fan who is now fed up trying downloading your favorite TV series episodes because of frequent virus threats and incomplete downloads, many will suggest you to use Amazon and iTunes instead of torrent networks. No doubt, they are giving you a better advice.

If you ask for my opinion, I think price is also an issue so I will not recommend you any of these. I will advise you to look for cheaper options to carry on with this hobby.

Coldplay Fillmore 2001 Concert Poster F438

Original concert poster for Coldplay at the Fillmore in San Francisco, SF 2001. 13"x19" on card stock. Art by Craig Howell. F438

A soundman can make or break your act at any live gigs that your band is playing. With a good engineer your band will sound polished with a great even mix of instruments and vocals. A bad engineer on the other hand, can make even a great band sound horrible. A harsh mix with blazing guitars and low vocal levels can leave your audience thinking that your band stinks. All of those countless hours of writing your songs and rehearsing get rudely flushed in the toilet!

Finding a Good Engineer

Check with other bands in your area and ask who they use to run their sound. Go out and listen to those engineers and ask yourself some questions about what you are hearing. Are all of the instruments an even level in the mix? Can you hear the lead vocals? How about the backup vocals? Are mics feeding back while the band is performing? How does the engineer use reverb and effects? Are they being overused? Is the engineer paying attention to the band pushing up lead guitar levels when appropriate? If the engineer doesn't do these things properly for other bands, most definitely he will mix and treat your band the exact same way. Another way to find a good engineer is to call recording studios in your hometown. They may have an recording engineer that also does live sound. Thirdly is to check your local music magazines for soundmen that are advertising for work.

Do They Have The Gear?

Check if the engineer you are thinking of hiring has the proper gear for the types of shows that you plan on playing with your band. Does he need a full blown PA set up or does he just need a good board, small fronts, monitors, effects and power amps? Know what you want before going into the deal. If the engineer doesn't own a PA ask if he has a working relationship with a sound company that he can rent the needed gear from. If they don't have any connections you may be overpaying for PA rental.

Are They Reliable?

The best soundman in the world won't do you any good if they are not on time and be where they need to be. I have had many dealings with great soundmen that just didn't have their act together.

Hiring a soundman should be a careful decision. Take your time and check all of your options before you make any decisions. Remember you are in control of your own destiny when it comes to your musical career.

With the internet expanding and evolving so rapidly and with there being more and more movie and music downloading programs now becoming available, it's hard to know which ones you can trust and which ones actually give you what you are paying for. One of the most popular movies at the moment, that some internet sites profess you can download free, is Iron Man. Search engine key word trackers indicate that this is the movie that the majority of people are currently searching for and that they are also searching for a program where you can download it for free. I don't blame people for wanting to download Iron Man for free as it really is a great movie, but I do believe its worth exploring this subject of free downloads as so many people are typing in that search term. This article explores if it is possible to download Iron Man and in fact if you can download it for free.

So do programs offering free downloads really exist? This article explores the topic of free downloads for Iron Man and other new movie releases and tells you a few things to be mindful of when choosing a program.

Firstly it's important to note that subscribing to sites that promise free downloads is indeed risky. Most of them are open to viruses that are hidden in advertising pop ups riddled throughout the program and whilst you are downloading. Clicking 'ok' to any of these can severally compromise your computer hardware. The reason for this is called "peer to peer networks" which simply means that anyone can offer movies for downloads on these sites and there are few processes in place to worm out scammers hackers and potential viruses.

Does this seem like something you want to leave your computer vulnerable to? Don't worry though there really are good downloading programs available where you can download Iron Man and other new movie releases safely and reliably. The bad news is though that you really do get what you pay for and paying a subscription to a reliable downloading program can offer safe guards against risky activities.

The great news is though that the cost of downloading a good program is extremely cheap considering what it is you are getting for the very small cost of around only 1 DVD. For that you can have access to most new movie releases, old movies, countless current new music hits, new and old computer games, TV programs and so much more. In fact you have access to over a staggering 65 million files. After extensive research the best website I could locate that really does deliver all this is Movie Downloads. For this safe, reliable, fast downloading program you are certainly getting amazing value for money.

I hope this article has helped you with making your decision about subscribing to a downloading site.

I have provided a link below which gives loads of information about Iron Man and access to the Movie Downloads site. Click on to the URL now to find out more about this great movie.

If you want a highly recommended movie downloading site that contains all the current movies, music, games, TV shows and more then click here now to find out more and start downloading the program.

Customer Review: Put down that bong and cell phone for just a minute and try to be a good person this holiday season and all year long.
Almost every year, Los Angeles radio station KROQ releases a Christmas album, "hosted" by their morning DJs, Kevin and Bean. It features songs and comedy skits and Christmas greetings by celebrities. Ah, broken chords. The sound. The cascading pattern of chordal notes. It's beautiful. There's no doubt about it. And this technique is one of the easiest to learn. After all, all you need to do to create it is have a chord under your fingers and be able to "break it up."

What do I mean by break it up? You've probably heard of solid chords. This is when all tones are heard at once. For example, if I finger a C Major triad and play all three keys at once, I'm playing a solid chord. But, if I break this chord up into it's 3 notes and play them one at a time you get a broken chord.

Broken chords are used frequently in New Age piano music. There's something about playing notes of a chord in broken style that's very appealing. Maybe it's because it makes the piano sound fuller. Or it could be that it just sounds lovely.

Now, let's take a look at how we can easily create it.

In the lesson "Reflections in Water," we have 4 open position chords. These chords are ideal for "breaking up" because they are so wide-spaced. Over two octaves of notes lay under your finger tips. Once we finger this chord position we are able to play the broken-chord style. How? By simply letting your fingers play around with the note possibilities! And there are many of them.

When you listen to me play this piece, you'll notice that it's nothing to write home about. That is, I'm not after a "sophisticated" sound here. I'm just gently playing around with the notes and using the element of time to create a calm ambiance. And it works! The notes float out into the air and music is created. Not by planning or trying to come up with material but by following a few simple guidelines and letting go of the need to control the outcome.

Into the Light World Tour

Captured during a two-night stand at a Dutch arena, this 100-minute concert special documents Gloria Estefan's lavish 1991 world tour, which underscored the Cuban-American singer's graduation from acclaim as a dance-floor diva to the ranks of female pop superstars. At its best, Into the Light World Tour displays the relentless energy, personal warmth, and crack musicianship that Estefan and her husband, producer, and principal collaborator, Emilio Estefan Jr., had evolved through her old band, the Miami Sound Machine, and taken uptown through her solo career. When the star and her band kick into high gear, percussion simmering and horns blazing in taut, deftly arranged choruses, the propulsive lure of salsa is hard to resist.

Technically, Estefan is a singer with a supple tone but modest range, hardly suggesting the caliber expected of a bona fide diva. Neither does her small, compact frame suggest a dancer's physique, despite the production's reliance on extended dance sequences. Yet she makes the most with what she has, harnessing formidable physical energy and transmitting considerable warmth to her audience. Her material, including both Miami Sound Machine hits and subsequent solo signatures, works best when staying closest to her roots, riding the giddy syncopations of uptempo Latin rhythms, or plying the lambent emotions of traditional ballads. Her exhortations to dance--"Get on Your Feet," "Conga," and "Rhythm Is Gonna Get You" being the inevitable faves--work handily with an ecstatic audience.

More grizzled viewers should be forewarned that this, like most recent concert films, isn't purely documentary--apart from backstage sequences that duly flatter the star, the live sound has been liberally sweetened during post-concert production. --Sam Sutherland
Customer Review: A great concert
I never actually saw this video. I was at the concert. The concert was awesome, so if this video does a decent job of capturing it, then it should be great too.
Customer Review: Gloria is the best and so are her concerts
Gloria is the best singer ever. On stage she's a divette. She's the best and so are her shows. The way she sings live is great, and so is her dancing. The band is great too. They know how to play and everybody goes wild in the audience!!!!!!!Always!!!!! I love her with all my heart and soul, 4 ever.....

It's Spring Break and the flowers are in bloom, but there's no flowered scent to the rancid air in the red light district. A matted up cat scurries away from a dumpster as I pass, making my way across the littered sidewalk to a dirty little shop with a twitching neon sign, "Pawn Here."

As I approach the cracked glass counter I sense other customers' eyes on me. I don't look like I belong here in my designer boots with my sweet little 5-year-old son at my side. My son points timidly at a large rusty knife with a skull engraved in the side and I'm suddenly guilty that I've dragged him into such a seedy place.

"I hear you have a violin," I say to the rugged, hunched man behind the counter. I say it in a sweet, treble tone that make me further stand out in a "I'm just a girlie girl with too much money who knows nothing about violins" sort of way.

Truth be known, I am a violinist and a violin shop owner. I'm not an expert in advanced violin authenticity, but I know a good violin when I see one and I also know when to run away screaming when it's junk. I'm here with hopes that the violin in question is worth repairing and restringing so it may be sold cheap to a student on a budget, making me a little bit of cash as well.

My hopes are not high that this will happen, but every so often there is something worth picking up. I don't volunteer this information as past experiences have proven this always unreasonably jacks up the price about 400%. I'm not here to gouge the guy, but I don't want to be gouged myself. Act like I know nothing and I can usually get it at an appropriate price.

I will have to dance the dance to keep this transaction fair.

The man behind the corner clears his throat loudly and eyes me suspiciously. I blink twice and smile, pink lipgloss shimmering in his clouded eyes. He glares again, slowly turns then limps to a back room, shouting over his shoulder something about how he has to go to the "special room" where rare instruments are kept.

This is pawn shop Tactic #1: Talk up the merchandise and add unrealistic mystique.

He returns with what looks like a miniature coffin covered in dust. It's an old black wooden violin case. Predating plastic and styrofoam, these were the sorry excuses for cases that caused more harm to instruments than not since they had no padding and the weak metal latches that held them together would spontaneously unhinge, causing many a fiddle to fall to death during transport.

"This is a fine antique case, made in 1883," says the shopkeeper. A man to my left approaches and says breathily, "those things are worth $500! They are very rare!" I keep my neutral gaze and say, "Oh yeah."

First off, I have about 4 such cases stored under my bed since I can't get rid of the things. Secondly, I had seen this "customer" helping move stock as I passed the shop a few days earlier. He was another employee who poses as customer to add "unbiased" credibility to the lies the shopekeeper spins. My son coughs and looks around, bored out of his mind.I maintain my blank expression. I'm starting to think the violin inside this casket is a dead end.

The shopkeeper opens the case and my suspicions are confirmed.

It is absolutely horrible. A cheap, Chinese made Corelli or Bestler fiddle from the early 1980's. I've seen so many to know what they are upon first glance. It has the usual ugly starburst orange and yellow plastic finish, which has cracked due to heat exposure. The pegs are made from cheap, splintered rosewood. The chinrest and tailpiece are the cheapest shiny black plastic, with a sticky mystery stain covering the cup of the chinrest.

As if this kind violin wasn't wretched enough in playable shape, the junk before me had been crushed and nastily glued back together. Sort of. The neck was askew and the top was coming undone at one side. I can safely say this was the most deplorable violin I have ever seen, and I've seen a lot of rotten junk in my time.

I forcefully hold in judgement like a bulimic keeps from getting sick with company present. The shopkeeper inhales, about to launch into his spiel, using pawn shop Tactic #2: Let the lies begin.

"This here violin is a master instrument," he says in a hushed tone. At this I am compelled to say something or I'll burst. "It's a Chinese Strad-copy violin from the 1980's, most-likely a Corelli," I interrupt quickly. Uh oh, the jig is up. He knows I'm no dupe.

But wait, he tries pawn shop Tactic #3: Lie some more. "No, M'am," he simpers. "This is a real Stradivarius. It's been in an attic for a long time, an undiscovered treasure." His face has obviously rehearsed the honest, pleading expression. His knack for lying is, in a sick way, admirable.

This is beginning to annoy me, but I want to see how big of a hole he'll dig for himself. I look at him as if wanting to be enlightened. He takes the bait and goes for tactic #4: Lie, but make it a real whopper."This violin was made by one of Stradivarius' students," he lies.

I almost laugh out loud at this, considering "Stradivari," not "Stradivarius" was the maker of Stradivarius violins and all of his instruments have been accounted for. And really, what kind of idiot thinks the most recently discovered Strad is for sale at a lousy pawn shop?

My son is shuffling his feet, but not complaining out loud. I wish he'd throw a tantrum so I'd have an excuse to leave quickly. Instead I maintain my composure and casually thank the man for his time before I turn and leave. He keeps his cool as my son and I walk out without another glance back, though to him I'm the one that got away.

We danced the delicate dance of buyer and seller, expert and swindler, and thankfully no one's toes were stepped on. He will go on to swindle another and may do well in the end. I am happy I still believe that people are good and I don't take it personally when they go bad.

As we drive away, my son asks why I didn't buy the nice violin. The poor dear would buy an ice cube in Alaska. Thus I begin to teach him another lesson in life's tricky dance moves, keeping your balance while still enjoying the music.

Shakira - MTV Unplugged

Customer Review: Shakira again
Just okay in my book! I like her newer stuff much better! But cool to see her perform
Customer Review: Great live CD
I have bought this one, because in my opinion Shakira is the greatest artist of this century. After Oral Fictation 1 & 2, Laundry Service, Pies Descalzos and Donde Estan los Landrones this was the first live album that I've bought from her. I think I've already listened it for more than fifty times the last 3 months. Particularly this version of Estoy Aqui is very surprising.

As a composer, musician and teacher, it's very likely that I've heard most kinds of music over the years. However, I still love the music of the cinema and, in particular, old horror movie soundtracks (think Hammer Films, etc). Dracula music is a firm favourite!

Let's start with music by Philip Glass, composed for the 1931 Bela Lugosi classic film Dracula and performed by the wonderful Kronos String Quartet.

Glass's minimalist style lends itself well to this subject-matter. The album is modern sounding but with a kind of timeless chamber-music quality, and is a great accompaniment to a dialogue-only film.

The usual Glass fingerprints are here: repetitive ostinati, arpeggios, motifs and rocking two-note bass lines, but touched with tender, lyrical moments. To me (being a melody-man at heart!), it was these melodic moments which prevented this album from becoming too tedious. Don't get me wrong; I enjoy modern, dissonant music, but eventually I long for a damn-good tune and this album gave me something close to that.

Most of the 26 tracks are quite short (1-4 minutes) and, although eerie, are surprisingly tuneful. The string playing is excellent, as you'd expect from the Kronos gang.

Here are a few of my favourite highlights:

"Excellent, Mr. Renfield": an eerie piece with the expected repeated ostinato/riff but with loud scary moments when the quartet suddenly burst in. The ticking bass line keeps things moving and a great winding melody over the top completes the image of the fly-eating lunatic who lives in the asylum!

"The Storm": a violent start to the track, full of discordant harmony and very evocative of a storm. Pizzicato strings produce the rain and fast runs create an impression of speed.

"Horrible Tragedy": not sure if this is bi- or tri-tonal! Sounds like every member of the quartet is playing in a different key. I like its hypnotic qualities and simple short riffs.

"In the Theatre": a great haunting melody and easy chord progressions - reminds me of Phantom of the Opera for some reason!

"Renfield": a surprisingly beautiful and sympathetic sound for our resident madman! Very classical sounding with some predictable chord changes and two-note bass accompaniment, later moving into triplets. Very nice.

This is not the usual blood-spattered Dracula music, full of diminished chords and squealing strings. Yes, it can be repetitive, but Glass seems to be using a greater range of tone colours than usual and, for this style of music, I found it quite tuneful (although you'd be hard-pressed to whistle along with the CD!).

Perhaps the disc gets rather tiring half-way through: 26 tracks is a lot of minimalist music! I have to admit that I've not seen the film with this soundtrack, but I've heard that it complements the images perfectly, especially in 'Carriage Without a Driver', where the spinning wheels are clearly portrayed and the music invokes a sense of menace.

On the whole... I like it!

Have you recently bought a new Zune player and are itching to download music for Zune? But you simply do not know where is the best place to get that "S.O.S" by Jonas Brothers and "Bubbly" by Colbie Caillat. This entire article is written to show you the entire process to download music onto your digital portable player as well as where are the places owners like you get their Zune music downloads at the most reasonable prices.

You perhaps already know that you can find movies, music, videos and games for your player at iTunes and Microsoft's Zune marketplace and other online music stores like Amazon, HMV and more. At the marketplace, you can access millions of songs. For the price conscious, the price tag of $0.99 to $2 over for a piece of song at any of these music stores can really be a turn-off. Imagine how much it would cost to acquire hundreds of songs for your music collection?

Another option which is quite popular are the free download services. While these are generally free and you can download music for Zune to your heart's content, you are also exposing your PC to the adware and spyware that comes attached with the music downloads. The extent of damage to your computer may be pretty bad when you realize that your computer is slower.

There is a safe option to transfer songs to your digital portable player. Similar to any other MP3 players, you can rip songs from a CD and synchronize that onto your player. If you are familiar with music ripping, you should be quite comfortable to download music for Zune in this manner.

The process starts first when you open a media player like Windows Media Player. Insert the CD and select the songs or soundtracks you wish to download. Next, click on the Rip button. You should see the song list appearing in the Windows Media Player library. Using the USB cable, connect your player to your PC and your player would synchronize with the Windows Media Player library to download music for Zune.

Even if the player is not syncing well, it is fine. You can simply copy the music files manually onto your player and it would work just fine except for the extra step. On your windows explorer, you would always see your digital portable player as an additional drive. Be sure to download to it correctly.

Many first-timers do not know that the file formats for your music are important. It can only support compatible formats like MP3, MP4, MOV, WMV and WMA and not other formats. Some examples of unsupported formats are DivX and RM.

Another alternative you have to download music for Zune is the paid membership services. This is one hot favourite among music lovers nowadays since you can find millions of downloads, pretty much unlimited downloads of songs, music, movies, videos and games. And the nice thing is you get all these for a flat fee. There are no limits to the bandwidth consumption and you can download at any time of the day.

I believe that by now, you should have a good grasp of where you can download music for Zune and do so affordably in a safe and secured environment. Check out my blog dedicated to music, movies and videos on which are the reliable membership sites for unlimited music and song downloads.

Learn how you can get access to unlimited Zune downloads - quality and latest music, movies, videos and games for your Zune player instantly. Also, find out if there really are free unlimited Zune downloads?

La Fea Mas Bella

Lety is a sweet shy romantic girl who is very intelligent though not what you'd call "attractive." Graduating with honors in economics and having a master's degree in finance she confidently sets out to find a job never once considering her appearance to be an obstacle to success. But she soon discovers that her skills and education are not enough as she is rejected over and over for her plain looks. She finally accepts a secretarial position at a major production company run by the founder's dashing but womanizing son Fernando. As the company's fortunes dwindle and future prospects dim Lety comes to the rescue proving how valuable she really is - and falling in love in the process! Can Lety stand up to the beautiful catty office gossips and win not just Fernando's gratitude but his love as well? And what happens when an unexpected twist of fate turns this "ugly duckling" into a lovely swan? That's what makes this novela one beauty of a story.Cast: Angelica Vale Jaime Camil Angelica Maria Jose Jose Elizabeth Alvarez Paty Navidad Niurka Marcos Nora Salinas Juan Soler Julissa Agustin ArenaDirector: Ruth Olegnow Sergio JimenezSystem Requirements:Run Time: 700 Mins.Format: DVD MOVIE Genre: LATIN/TELENOVELA Rating: NR UPC: 000799464328 Manufacturer No: 22292
Customer Review: La Fea Mas Bella
If I would have known that the discs did not have enough segments to make the movie realistic, I would not have bought it. Had two sides of two discs damaged or blank and many segments left out that made movie unacceptable. I would have like to see more segments of the show.
Customer Review: Good telenovela..
One of the funniest telenovelas out there. The original was way better but this is still worth watching...

So you've decided you want to be in a rock band? Maybe you've always felt you were different and you didn't belong in greek-letter fraternities or alibata-activist organizations? You've always wanted to stand out so you think playing on stage in front of screaming fans is the way to go? Okay, if you think you've got what it takes to be the next rock icon take your best shot at it.

If you're good and end up the next big breakthrough band, the whole scene benefits. If you suck and end up as the most painfully annoying band in your barangay, you still make the rest of us look better. Either way, welcome aboard.

Before you start practicing your autograph signature though, here's a quick checklist of what I feel should be the minimum prerequisites to make it in the scene:

1. TALENT. First is you must have some. Obviously. Most contend that with talent, its either you have it or you don't but with rock bands, who needs a lot when you can do with just enough. And since you're not joining the Manila Symphony Orchestra, you don't have to be formally schooled in music although that certainly helps, but you should at least know your instrument well enough to play convincingly. If you don't know enough yet, practice until you do but don't wait too long to start a band. You'll learn more playing gigs than you ever could playing in your garage.

2. ATTITUDE. You must have a certain pride in what you do. With pride comes the discipline and the determination to keep going no matter what. Like they always say, any band is 15 minutes away from selling a ton of records but you wouldn't know that if you can't even keep your band in circulation long enough to finish playing one potential hit song. Market yourself like crazy. There's the local circuit and there's the Internet. Play in both arenas as much as you can. If no one liked your band the last time you gigged in the local bar, odds are someone eventually will. Maybe not this town, this year, or your current e-group but chances are it will eventually happen if you stay the course.

3. LOOKS. Sadly, show business is show business and if you don't have the looks, natural or enhanced, you've got something of a problem. You need the x-factor to stand out. Don't despair though if you feel you're no Adonis. Even Keanu Reeves couldn't get his band to take off. You don't have to have a perfect mane or well-chiseled features to look the part. In fact, only in the realm of rock can you find the ugliest celebrities. Fashion wise, anything goes so you can't really make a mistake in that department. In fact, who needs a good top if halfway through the first song it gets thrown at the mosh pit packed with screaming fans anyway. Just remember that there's usually a genre fit for whatever look you're stuck with. If you've got a pretty face, you can join a boy band. Unkempt? Go reggae. Scary? Go heavy rock. Geeky? Go indie. Watch enough MTV and MYX and you'll get the drift.

4. LUCK. Alas, this last item is difficult to quantify much less acquire. In fact, its just one of those things you can't control directly. Some bands are just blessed with luck to be in the right place at the right time to end up the icon of a generation. Others have just enough of it to end up as a perpetual opening act for all the other meteoric bands. But like all things, luck follows a cycle and favors the prepared. So pool all your connections and send out as many band profiles and demos as you can afford. Do it twice over, and then again. You'll never know if the next kit will strike the jackpot and land you a multi-album record deal and a savvy band manager.

I could have listed six more items to make it a top ten list but then there's a limit to my article length so I'll keep it at four. Just remember you don't have to have all four under your belt. You can compensate for lack in one by having more of the others. In fact, you can surely make it big with just one item if you've got tons of it. Tons of talent never hurt anyone. Unyielding drive gets you there too eventually. If not, who needs attitude and talent if you've got looks that could kill. (Okay, you might need a stylist plus a sharp dance choreographer and probably a dedicated publicist). If all else fails, lady luck just might favor you even without the other three items because like justice, luck wears a blindfold and doesn't care who she strikes on her next swing.

So to be famous, you don't have to die when you reach 27 like Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison, or Kurt Cobain, bless their souls. If you plan to kill yourself anyway, why not by throwing all your energies into your band. Just remember my TALL order: Talent, Attitude, Looks and Luck plus the rule of compensation if you're lacking in one or more departments. If you still fail, take heart. There still are ways you can get rich without getting anything actually done. Like working for the government. But unlike the music business, you'd do well to avoid, by all means, getting a recording out.
